[splatterladder] Board _ NEWS - RtCW / ET - ENGLISH _ WolfX 0.7 Release

Posted by: {WeB}GANG$TA Apr 9 2013, 05:55 PM

This is a first official release of the game that's powered with ioRtcw engine. It features a lot of new stuff but due share amount of work and lack of time, there are still some bugs present. Bugs are commented in readme file you will be presented at the end of the install process.
Additionally, as you will notice there's a new installer. Project got open source license for BitRock installer, it's a powerful cross platform installer that brings also (auto)update ability so deployment of new releases is now simplified. Note that installer is very powerful and quite complicated to get around at start, so there may be some quirks, if they are please report them so we can fix it.

You're welcome, Tom. DOGster and me were testing this new release with Nate, one of the developers and the gameplay and graphics are fantastic super.gif . This new release even has it's own installer which makes life a lot easier when installing it.

It's Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Gauki, but the graphics are now in HD. It looks awesome and this is only the start of the improvements the guys are making.

Yup i can confirm we fragged there a couple of times and the graphics were to die for. Gotta say Nate and his guys are super talented and have bred life back into rtcw. All we need now is for Nate and his crew to be let loose on ET and Bob's your uncle.... if the improvements he made to rtcw could be done for ET then i think we would have shed loads more players fragging!!!

Oh right, I see what you mean, Rehhhh. Nate, who developed RtCWX, is part of the RtCW Cooperative Dev Team. I maybe wrong, but I think what they're doing now is working to incorporate his excellent RtCW HD into Coop Mod, making it just the one project instead of the two separate ones.

As I have not been able to frag with others I have returned to wolfx just to keep my hand in and I gotta say its fecking awesome I just hope they continue work on it because a link between thus and coop seems to me to be the logical progression.
