There can be many reasons why this happens - but its not a failure of ET.

--> Get the newest drivers for ur GraphicCard, Soundcard and so on. (Dont forget DirectX, and the settings u r used to & that worked properly (SoundAcceleration etc..)) Also for ur InternetConnection Hardware. Get system Up-to-Date (as much as possible)
--> Also check ur Hardware. And if the jumpers on ur device's are correctly set and connectet to the right IDE-Cable (Master/Slave/CableSelect)
To get sure that ur system isnt overlocked (tweaked)
-->Reset ur CMOS, to do so u have to read in the Instruction Manual of ur Mainboard. If u have resetet, start CPU -> go to BIOS -> load standart (best) values (and set ur things ur used to set in BIOS, like turning off On-BoardSound for example) -> but dont set the values for higher CPU Speed manually, its usally 100/100 (at my CPU).
-->Go to My Computer -> Right-Click -> Manage -> EventViewer-> System. There will be logged if something happend (mostly). If u got 'warning' or/and 'error' in there than it might be a serious problem. If Warning/Error appears than click on them (Properties) to get more information. Then just copy the information in Google to get some much more information how the warning or error occurs.
-->Also there can be Malware, Virus, Trojan... - things like that, that fu** up ur system.
-->Look at Temperature of CPU & System, maybe it is much to hot and it crashes if there is to much action for the CPU.

Thats all what comes in my mind, for now. Good Luck!
