There's been quite a lot of talk about this subject in our chatbox on the SL main page. Schnoog's asked for a thread to be started, in order to deal with this subject and everyone's ideas too. So, here it is folks, have your say and help the Splatteladder management team know exactly what you're looking for

I`ll try to bring my ideas into non technical words:
Player can report (suspected) cheater, based on evidences with alot of data (IP, Playername, GUID, when PB is enabled also things like OS-username, installation path aso.) Those data is summarized and the evidences released for review. If the reviewer think , Yeah he`s cheating, they can approve the evidence. Based on those data, some kind of evidence-level could be took into consideration ( 1/10 reviewer approves => 1 , 16/20 => 8 , 15/15=> 10 .... simple mathematics, but implementing a minimum reviewer count would be needed) IPs, more then 3* times reported will be banned (bye bye VPN ) Based on requests for Playername, GUID and IP (more possible with pb on) the system API(this part can be called for example by php) will return a rating* ( 0 => save or not listed , 100 => cheater) and a classification* (1= suspected only, 2= rulebraker....) With the right script in place the serveradmins calling the api will be able to configure which kind of bans (classification) should be applied, and starting from which rating. If such a system is in place, a further step could be to challenge the server via rcon (negative= we need to know the rcon password... so if you don`t trust me it`s a no-go). *to be discussed -------------------- |

Just like the challenges that were sent by Punkbuster when it was tracking the cheating players, Schnoog? We also wouldn't have any problem giving you our server rcon password, bro. -------------------- ![]() |
