Something is causing me lag ingame and I think it is PunkBuster, pb,punkbuster,lag,et Options

Hey guys

I am having an issue with my Wolfenstein ET game. I have my own gameservers with ETJump and NoQuarter installed and they both have PunkBuster disabled.

Someone told me to enter this in console:

pb_cl_disable (this requires me to restart the game but when I restart the game it is just enabled again)
pb_sleep 500
pb_security 1

The last 2 CVARs have actually helped me fixing my ingame lag (not really lag but more of a stutter that occurs every 3 to 10 seconds and always the same interval between the 'stutters') but it is not all fixed yet. Can anybody out here provide me with a solution because this is starting to get really frustrating at times. It looks to me like PB is scanning my system and makes something interrupt for 1 milisecond or so, but that 1 ms is so damn annoying!

Like $mart sad , if your server has PB disabled , then Punkbuster isn't the reason.

Writing log files can a reason for stuttering servers .
Omnibot 0.85 makes a lot of server lags on mods like nq.
Too many or faulty lua scripts , configs or external mapscripts.

Their are many factors which can reasons for lags.

Can you post the IP's of your server's , some infos about your hardware and maybe a screenshot of the processes (task manager) while playing?

But I am almost sure that it has to do with PunkBuster. When I enter pb_security 0 and pb_sleep 500 in the ingame console, the lag will reduce. I will check all of the above out later today though.

EDIT: it was indeed PunkBuster causing me this lag, I think I had an inappropriate version of PB installed. I reinstalled PB with the link you gave {WeB}GANG$TA and it works now!
