Looking problem..., pinned topic did not help Options

Please help me.
My status is always looking.
How frustrating. I've been trying for days and I can't fix it. It happens on all servers I play on although I play mostly on only one server. It doesn't happen to other players on that server. The instructions on the Sticky Post on this problem unfortunately didn't help.

so try to take a look to your etpub etconfig

Monkey is right...
You play on etpub servers, so you have to check the name in the etconfig.cfg in your etpub's profiles directory.

The colorcode you've posted above, is correct, so there is somewhere else in your configs (or autoexec) the wrong colorcode

Already been there thanks Rippchen. Tried all that over the past few days to no avail. I've also gone through this section looking at other people's posts with the same problem, but I couldn't find any new help there.

seta cg_selectedPlayerName "^2(^7SAW^2)^3G^2n^3u ^9OAP" from etpub etconfig.
seta cg_selectedPlayerName "" from etmain etconfig.

I dont know what the seta cg... line does. (Yes, ima noob). I tried it as is, no good. I tried it with my name (colour codes and all) inserted between "" in etmain etconfig, (same as etpub etconfig) and also did not work.


I have no other configs, profiles or mod folders.

I do appreciate the feedback guys. Thanks for your help. Still need some more though, not quite got a solution yet.

I uninstalled and re-installed ET with a DIFFERENT name. This name worked properly on SplatterLadder.
I then made another NEW installation of ET with my standard name of ^2(^7SAW^2)^3G^2n^3u ^9OAP. Still had the "looking" problem on SL.

I had tried unreserving my name in SL for a couple of hours while continuing to play ET and then re-reserving it again. This did not fix the problem. Also tried doing this and shutting ET down for an hour and coming back and re-reserving my name, to no avail.

I unreserved my name again and left it this way for ONE WEEK. I continued to play under my normal name during this time. At some point, it started working again. I have now re-reserved my name and all is well again. Maybe in topic 4726 you might wish to edit this line:

try -also in the Tracker Settings/sl.Settings- to release the name and reserve it again a little time later.

to ...reserve it again about a week later.

I don't understand why, but this seemed to work for me.
