How can I prevent my private server from being listed on SL Options

Hello Splatterladder,

I was following the other thread and one of your Admins/Management called TomDome stated that it is possible for server admins like me to prevent my private server from being listed on SL if I contact you and prove its my server.

We can ignore servers but i am not sure if thats what you want. But main thing is that the serverowner(s) will have to get into contact with us (and prove that its their server) before we take any action.

Would you be so kind to tell me what necessary steps I have to take in order to prevent my server from getting listed in the near future please.

well, i guess the only thing we want is that you cant see the names of the players who are currently playing on certain private (not public) servers, which would be the case if you dont scan it

At the moment I have 4 private servers which I pay for, they cost me a bit more than 55€/month, I'm politely asking you to remove my servers from the sl-list as I'm paying good money for them, it would be really helpful if it didn't show up on the list anymore so we can play private wars without strangers being able to see my private server that easily, fyi it has stopped reporting to the master server for a few weeks now.

Set your server not to send data out to the www and we wont track it. How simple is that?

Nothing more to do then what ive just posted above... Asking about setting the masterservers to nothing and hoping that is all what is beeing sent doesnt make you look that smart you are trying to tell us you are.

I actually have no idea about what you are talking about (www stuff) so i just listed the actions I took to try and prevent my server from being public, all I am asking for you is to help me after all that is why you're an admin over here...

Really? Your server is connected to the internet and sends out information on several ports. We are clearly not violating your privacy. If you're not able to stand that, you shouldn't run a server.

And for your dearest information, a "private server" is a term of GSPs which means that your server is password protected. Nothing more.

Oh you think i am an admin solely for your pleasure and service? This is a free service and as long as you dont pay my monthly bills it is a privilegue to get support, not a given right.

Are you saying an ET server sends information through the HTTP protocol? Imo if you close the ET server port (often 27960), you can't connect to the server. Correct me if I'm wrong.

SL admins just tell you to do stuff but they themselves, don't know how to do it because they talk rubbish about topics they have no clue about..

here is the source disable it here somewhere that your server does not send infos to the masterbrowser and compile it.

or use port 1000-2000 this ports are not supported by the serverlist at sl.


If i want i can hide my servers from sl.

this is a bullshit, i had here 4 years long nothing in this fileds.

not only splatterladder is tracking your server. there is gametracker, servermonitor, hlsw, xfire,this here http://cade.datamax.bg/away/ets/mb/all.html and maybe much more.
use a tool to see where your server is sending infos to and ban them in the firewall.

You send this data to sl not sl to you.
