What should I do to take notice of creation a splatterladder signature?

We use a powerful banner-engine in order that you have barely restrictions for your own creation of a signature.
We will give you more options than tinker a text over a graphic.

Just take notice the following helpful suggestions:

Firstly your signature should be relate to splatterladder, for example by the URL or our "splatman" zwinker2.gif Naturally you can comprise your name/logo/url in the signature. Since the signature is usually shown in forums you should keep the size in mind: most forums limit the size to something like 400x100 pixels (width x height) and 50 or 100 kB.

background:
A backgroundgraphic is the basis in a PNG,JPG,GIF-format.

special-effects:
Over this background you can use separate "special-effects" graphics like a bloodsplash, bullet hole or other gfx in PNG,JPG,GIF-format.
In Addition you can use a special text then we need this TTF-font too. Please attend the font should be freeware!
The most suitable graphics format for this effects is PNG with alpha channel. It shows transparency in the browser. For example you can use a light-effect over the statistic text. Also you can spread the effect-graphics in a static or random position.

design:
The design can be depend from the statistics text. For currently playing user you can make a other background, text and/or effect of this status.

We will demonstrate these facts on the permit example. For your signature you will have the same options:

1. The backgroundimage "permit-playing.png" will be loaded for currently playing user otherwise "permit.png" for none playing user.
2. The servername will be wrote for currently playing user. ("last seen:" in complement)
3. The stamp is displayed as a effect over the graphic and text. It will be randomly selected of 2 graphics.

Now, we would be glad to see your finished signature!
Please send us the result and we will deside to publish your creation.

Ensuing we need the backgroundimage, the effect-graphic(s) and the TTF-font in their respective format.

If you want to create a sig:

Create the required images, make some example sigs and then zip all data into a single file. Sent this file to an admin and we will validate and check the files - and when its Ok for us we will install it.

Remember that splatterladder is a German project, so please don't use any national socialist symbols like swastikas or SS-runes.

Here some basic guidelines (contact an admin if you have further questions):

Font:
  • You can specify one or more fonts to be used in the sig (fonts should be free for all uses). Font files should be in the .ttf file format. To find the name of a font resp. to find similar fonts you can use identifont. dafont is a great source for free fonts.
  • You can specify addtional text. E.g. if the rank of a player is 1234, then you can write "Rank is 1234" instead of simply writing "1234". But preformated text (i.e. the text "Rank is" is part of an image layer) is usually faster.
  • Possible font/text parameters are: color, size, rotation, alpha (i.e. transparency), shadow.
  • Text and images can be (randomly) rotated (within a given range) - please don't overuse this feature.
Fields:
Available Fields/Data to be shown in the sig:
  • Player name - plain (single colored) or within game colors
  • Player rank
  • Player efficiency
  • Total time played
  • The avatar image (from the forum, colored ("as it is") or grayscaled)
Online status:
You can create different outputs depending if the player is currently on a server or not - the engine automatically detects the online status of the player (an example is the permit sig):
When the player is on a server the following fields are available:
  • server name
  • server ip
When the player is not on a server you can show:
  • How long ago the player was last seen on a server?
