Any plans to enhance map list?
Some maps on it are since ages and hold's no useful stats. As an admin, what I would like to see is.. which map is most popular in last one month based on: 1. How many times it's played. 2. On how many server it is. 3. The avg map end time (which is also shown on mappol of server page) Based on popularity, I would like to add maps on my server. The present map list is totally bogus to be honest. ( no offense intended) Why? 1. Broken server column. Number of server shown is totally incorrect for many and many maps. 2. Type is missing in most of the maps. 3. First seen is missing and do we care about first seen? 4. Click column.. I mean who cares how many times user clicked on DL icon? As a user is that useful? I don't think so. As an admin is that useful? I don't think so. -------------------- |

Hi, and sorry for the late response.
First I have to thank you for your feedback. It was not planned to change the maplist...yet. in private;) : Underhand I`m on developing a new, little enhanced, maplist. To catch your points: I`ll try to include the avg-maptime. The server number shown in maplist is not really incorrect (at least at point of creation). Those data is catched all 5 minutes, it`s not a real-time indicator. Unfortunality server which are down were saved with the last runned map: To proof this: Go to maplist, select a map like supply final (currently shown with 116 server), klick on the number label to switch to the serverlist filtered to the map supply (showing 176 server atm). Now take a look on page with the last 76 server, about 60 of them are down. It took me hours to until I stumpled over this, but I`m glad about the challenge because I`m still not 100% familar with the code. So we can say: for the moment the maplist was updated, the server-count is absolutly correct, oc. it`s sploiling when you click on a "1" which is indicating a server currently is running a map and you end up on an empty server-list page, because the map ended within the last 4 minutes and the maplist is not updated, but please understand me when I`m not switching to lower times, because the mysqld is very busy (avg 2k queries per second, and the service cycle are well clocked. Each change on one of them will create a lot of clocking work. Because of this I`m focusing on other features) The First-Seen column is a very useful indicator (IMO). I used it a lot to find maps which were new in the wild. The click-counter, I fully agree to you, is no added value (apart from the number) Conclusion: We`ll get a new maplist, maybe not within the next few weeks, but I`m on it. Regards schnoog -------------------- |

I agree first seen can be useful the way you mentioned.
Also possible to separate maplist for ET and RTCW? Thanks for working on it! Also, if you can update info and download on maps to wolffiles, it would be gr8! -------------------- |

Rippchen is updating the mapdownload links to wolffiles...a hugh workload...after this is done (because of crazy mapnames not a script job), it would , hopefully, be possible to join
the data of wolffiles and sl. A filter for ET / RTCW / TCE is now on my tasklist. -------------------- |
