evenbalance has released a new Punkbuster update (version 1.185):

"Version 1.185 of the PB Client for ET has been released to our PB Master Servers for auto-update and to our website download page. This version corrects a bug in v1.184 released earlier today that was causing PB to delete the etkey file and in some cases erroneously kick players for having an empty cdkey."

Punkbuster should autoupdate, when you connect to a server. You can also update manually using pbweb.

It may take a while (up to 5 minutes with DSL - usually waiting for response from server). And I got 2 error messages at the first run, but at the second run it updated the missing files.
