Wolf Enstein
The new "Call of Duty WWII" has created a modern version of our "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory" gameplay and they've made a very good job of it too.

Here's the actual in-game footage, from a "Wolfenstein" perspective, posted by the one and only Yo$hik from our "RtCW" community.

What you will see coffeenews.gif :

1] Attack and capture the command post so you can spawn there.

2] Build the 2-part bridge, (just like Wolf: ET Fueldump), get your tank across it.

3] Escort the tank to the Axis ammo supply.

4] Attack the supply depot, breaching either of the two depot gates, plant dynamite and destroy it. (the Axis troops can rebuild the gates, check the footage of the left-hand side gate at the 6:35 mark)

5] Escort the tank to the 88 Flak Cannons and destroy them.

The only thing I never saw included were landmines, but I can't say for sure that they're not actually in the game, we'll have to wait and see grin.gif . After 14 years of waiting, our game, "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory", has finally been remade.

It just made what, copy the unique game-style WolfET is over CoD MP base and just about that. Equals on zero development by those devs. Dunno about product you smoked so much.

There is, like, an infinite amount of little ideas that would complement a true WolfET legacy successor, none I see a big-budget studio handle doing so.
Wolf Enstein
Well, we can all agree to disagree, N3rwitZ bro. To me, this is so obviously a "Wolf: ET" remake that it can't be sensibly argued with to the contrary. Escorting the tank, building the bridges, planting dynamite, destroying objectives as you work as a team. You can't see any of that taking place, apparently rolleye.gif . Perhaps you need a new pair of glasses, m8 grin.gif ?
N3rwitZ
Interestingly things you see don't necessarily equal an ET remake or, an example, a game that takes exact influence from Enemy Territory, e.g. relating to that so be called such, it's your subjective assessment cuz you know ET for that. That I am okay with. Albeit, for someone to insistently say it's such just basing on some plain common footage is bit too much, prolly and extreme over-confident.

dont know why non of the game devs are working on the real "new et" project, keep the same map for competitions just update graphics to something modern like quake champions, keep the weapons behavior and movement maybe add an extra class
make it a steam release
profit

Probable reason: hard to work on something driven by passion that is far different from the trends developers embrace, in an era of copyright strikes for asset copying and plagiarism that target new and up-coming studios. this industry is deep in shit now. Ting.

Ohh my goodness, for christ sake, this looks stunning. I agree with Wolf Enstein, this is as close to ET as we could have hoped for. Are there voice commands? Which engine, UE4? This seems the future. I hope itˋs customizable. Being on the unreal engine would be good too. If it'snot UE4, is there a level designer tool free of charge available? Any notes from the editors on assetts, mods, tools to mod and map? After so many years, this seems what we need guys. Are there new characters or just the ones from ET?
Wolf Enstein
These are all the questions that we're asking too, Teuthis. If there are no level-design tools, no customisable game servers for Clans and modding allowed, then we are not interested.

The engine they're using, as far as we know, is this one coffeenews.gif :

I think we can all agree on that we are all very interested, yet our interest can be multiplied by the option to customize the game by modding, mapping and all other sorts of clan-based customization.

I wanna wear my favorite pair of socs ingame :)

The gameplay and the objective-driven teamplay is very neat. I am curious whether voice commands etc are implemented. I noticed some "1 shot is enough to get killed" mentality. Hope this chances till the final version

Did some internet search, previous COD editing tools are very very similar to the GTK radiant, so mapping seems similar as for ET (assuming the editor for this game is the same as for previous COD versions). Putfall is that scripting seems to be c++, which is the same as for ETQW and which is very different to our good old ET. But all I heard is that c++ scripting is easier to learn as the old scripting we are so familiar with.
Wolf Enstein
Very interesting, Teuthis, thanks for sharing your research. Let's hope that we get more official information about these things in the near future.
